Departing Castellare di Tonda at 9 am we ride past the interesting San Vivaldo Monastery, The Borgo of Castagno, Monte Cornocchio (550 metres above sea level), Castelsangimignano, and then finally the Unesco heritage site of San Gimignano where we take a break of 30 minutes to visit the walled medieval town, visit the Duomo, towers and many sights. Afterwards we visit a small tavern where we taste 3 local wines and delicious local snacks.

Departure 0900 from Castellare di Tonda. Taking the old road past Sughera, we visit Peccioli, La Rosa, Lajatic and Bacchettona. Finally we reach the ancient Etruscan city of Volterra, with time to have a cappuccino or an artisan icecream before visiting an alabaster workshop, one of the most famous in the whole of Italy. Return time estimated at 1600.
Departure 0900 from Castellare di Tonda, travelling through the winding forest paths of the Bosco Gucci and Corbezzolaia via the ancient road that connected Montaione and Castelfalfi, we visit the largest Golf Club in Tuscany for a quick cappuccino, and then ride on past the village of Cedri, Villamagna Iano and the monastery of San Vivaldo.Return time estimated at 1600.
Departure 0900 from Castellare di Tonda, we ride through Sughera onto the old dirt road up to the farm of Collegalli, here we ride down to Casastrada crossing over the Via Francigena, we pass the Castello di Coiano, Castelfiorentino, Gambassi Terme, Pancole and stop off at the little hamlet of Il Castagno for a delicious traditional panino of prosciutto di cinta senese washed down with some great local IGT red wine.
