Castellare di Tonda has a very ancient history, dating back to the Strozzi, a noble Florentine family who, at their apex of wealth and status, bought houses and land in the area and transformed them into the magnificent Poggia estate.
Following a renovation project of the old farmsteads, carried out with masterly ability and in full respect of the Tuscan tradition, Castellare di Tonda has been revived in the full splendour of yore.
Twelve farmsteads accurately renovated are scattered around the 280-hectare historic estate at 300 metres above sea level, in a strategic position for visiting Florence, Siena, Pisa and the seaside.
